SUMMARY :

The New Pavilion project was designed to connect the old with the new. The existing hospital needed to expand to accommodate increasing demand and modernize its aging systems. The New Pavilion included a new med/surg nursing unit. a new ICU unit, 8 new surgery suites and several support functions such as central sterile supply and new backup generator set. The surgery suite, comprised of 8 ORs, is located on the second floor, which is rectilinear by necessity while the nursing units are positioned diagonally to promote optimal viewing angles into the patient rooms for improved nursing observation during a patient’s stay at the facility.
